We’re looking for a detail-oriented and technically strong Systems Administrator (POS / OMNI) to join our dynamic IT team at the Cape Union Mart Group.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for maintaining and supporting our POS and OMNI systems — ensuring stability, performance, and seamless operation across all retail environments. You’ll collaborate closely with technical teams and vendors to troubleshoot issues, implement system changes, and support ongoing projects that enhance our retail systems landscape.

Key Responsibilities
Provide technical support for POS / OMNI systems, ensuring timely resolution of incidents and problems (including after-hours standby support when required).
Participate in requirements analysis, solution mapping, configuration, testing, and documentation to meet business needs.
Work closely with Development and Engineering teams on POS software releases and OMNI system deployments.
Identify recurring issues through trend analysis and implement sustainable solutions.
Administer system configurations and coordinate with 3rd party vendors for support.
Perform ongoing system housekeeping and maintenance.
Design and develop bespoke SQL features (MSSQL / PL/SQL).
Assist with end-user training and provide documentation for users and teams.
Maintain QA and production environments.
What You’ll Bring
Qualifications & Training:
Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent
Relevant tertiary or technical qualification
Experience:
Experience supporting or implementing POS or ecommerce systems
Knowledge of integration technologies (APIs, XML, SOAP, JSON, REST)
Experience with Python scripting
Understanding of networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, HTTP, SSL, TCP/IP, etc.)
Skills:
Strong analytical and communication skills
Scripting and automation for multi-site support
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities
Time management and attention to detail
Working Environment
Office-based professional environment
Some after-hours and weekend work as part of a standby roster
Limited travel (mostly local commuting)
