Cape Union Mart is the group’s flagship chain that has been equipping South African adventurers since 1933. Fondly known as South Africa's favourite outdoor adventure store, it stocks everything you need for outdoor pursuits including hiking, camping, trail running, mountain biking, snow sports, travel and more. It also exclusively stocks the K-Way brand, with its popular range of outdoor gear, apparel and technical clothing.


 
Sparks & Ellis (S&E), established in the early 1930s, heads up the corporate division and is South Africa's oldest and most respected supplier and manufacturer of uniforms. It specialises in complete uniform solutions and offers clients a head-to-toe service. Developing technologically advanced products, Sparks & Ellis offer uniforms and equipment for security, traffic, fire & rescue, ambulance, law enforcement and corporate clients.


Green Thread Design Studio was launched in 2022 as the group’s core design and production hub for Poetry and Old Khaki in order to facilitate the growth of local clothing design and production. The studio gives our group better control over the evolution of product creation and allows for closer collaboration between buyers, designers and production teams. In South Africa, we believe we have outstanding creative talent and people with incredible imagination and wonderful taste. Our goal is to change the mindset that overseas brands and products are superior because “local is lekker”.
